How does the training work?
We provide the simulator, trainers and evaluator to train with the assistance of your independent agency evaluator. optional evaluation sheet for your agency which can be attached to the driver’s personnel records for future training needs.
What kind of system do you use?
We have state-of-the art, full motion driving simulators and MPRI computer system and Applied Simulation Technologies software.
This collaboration of computer system software is second to none and will provide the best training dollar for dollar. With numerous driving scenarios to choose from, we guarantee to enhance the training your employees receive.
How long is the training?
Our training starts at one day and continues as long as you need.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the length of the training. And it also can depend on the distance we have to travel and flexibility of your scheduling. If you can work into our travel plans or fill gaps in our schedule, then we may be able to reduce your costs. That is why a simple phone call or email is worth your time to find out.
The real question is How much can it save?
By training in-shift and on-site you reduce overtime and travel costs. And as reported to us by one Risk Manager who tracked a year after training, there was a 35% reduction in at fault accidents, which amounted to a substantial savings.
What are the dimensions of the driving simulator trailer?
The trailer is 24 ft. long, 8 ft. wide, and 12 ft. tall. The entry door is on the passenger side.
What are the power requirements?
The system needs a (2) 15 amp circuits. The driving simulator trailer has (2) 100 ft. cords that plug into the circuits. For short rentals the trailer has a generator that can be used.
How long does it take for each driver?
As a rule of thumb, we usually see departments take a minimum of 30 minutes for the training but we recommend a minimum of 45 minutes to one hour for the driving simulator.
What if it breaks down?
We have replacement parts for the driving simulator readily at hand. If you suffer lost time due to a problem with the simulator, we will extend your rental, reschedule your rental or refund your unused rental fee, depending on what works best for you and fits into our reservation schedule.
If I share the driving simulator with another department, how long does it take to change from one vehicle to another?
It literally takes only a click of the mouse to switch between 50 different vehicles, including front and rear drive automobiles, ambulances, fire trucks, buses, dump trucks, and SUVs.
Can I use the simulator for a Citizens Academy?
Certainly! In fact, we recommend you also involve town or village council members, judges, prosecutors, risk managers, the press, and as many civilians as possible.
