Concealed Carry Level I is an entry level course to prepare you to use the handgun for personal defense. It provides you with a solid foundation in basic knowledge of handgun safety, various types of handguns, an understanding of ammunition and how it functions, shooting fundamentals and an introduction to defensive shooting skills.

During the course, students will learn basic operation, drawing from the holster, point shooting, sighted fire, and simple deterrence and decision making drills. At the end of the course, students complete a live fire performance evaluation.

Prerequisites:

Home Firearm Safety and either: NRA Basic Pistol Course, Live Fire Competency training or similar handgun competition or training experience. All Students must prove a complete understanding of: Firearms Safety, the operation & maintenance of their handgun and basic marksmanship skills.

Required Gear:

  • A modern, serviceable, center-fire handgun (Semi-Automatic Pistol or Double Action Revolver .38 special or 9mm or above.) with a carry case.

  • Handgun Cleaning kit

  • Ear and Eye protection (electronic muffs preferred).

  • Strong Side Holster – Either “Kydex” or leather OWB holster designed for your specific make and model of handgun. Strong side and belt mounted, only. You will be presenting the gun from concealment and re-holstering repeatedly. You need to be proficient at this task and have a holster that does not collapse when the gun is removed.

  • Inside Waist Band Holster

  • No pocket guns such as Keltec PF9, Ruger LCP etc.

  • 250 rounds of factory loaded FMJ standard pressure ammunition (no reloads)

  • Two extra functional magazines (semi-autos – 3 total) or speed-loaders (revolvers)

  • Dual Magazine carrier optional but HIGHLY recommended.

  • Small to Medium sized tactical style flashlight

  • Sturdy Shoes, Long Pants, Shirt with Higher Collar

  • A quality belt designed to anchor gear to your body

  • Comfortable clothing, knee-pads (recommended but optional)

  • Hydration system or Bottled water.

  • Baseball Cap

This Course is 1 full day, approximately 7-9 hours of training.
